The quickest and easiest method of copying your data e.g. into your word processor is to select with the cursor arrows and then press Ctrl+Ins or Ctrl+C. This puts it into the clipboard (click to see examples showing how to copy into Word etc.).
If you choose File | Save As you get various choices:
saving as a text file or XML or spreadsheet
save as data (not the same as saving as text: this is saving so you can access your data again another day)
