tag in search-word

Previous topic Next topic JavaScript is required for the print function

Suppose you want to find adjectives in L1 position before a word like ANALYSIS.

The search-word would be

<w AJ?>* analysis

(The tag for an adjective in the BNC World Edition is <w plus AJ0,AJC or AJ0, then we need the closing > and an asterisk to tell WordSmith that the search isn't necessarily bounded to the right by a space, then we specify the word analysis.)

If we hide the tags themselves and reduce colour to only the nouns and adjectives, it will look like this:

tagged_search with tags hidden
