WordSmith settings

Define your multimedia tags so as to include the video file extension such as .mp4, .avi.

I set mine like this.

media_file_settings

The videos I found at TED talks have extension .mp4 so I needed to be sure I included that. The media filename matches the text filename, and 10 seconds will by default get played each time. The marker telling Concord how where to jump to in the video is start=.

Load up a suitable tag file as "mark-up to include" as Concord creates your concordance. The one which you get with WordSmith 7.0 is called srt_video.tag and contains the line highlighted here:

  srt_video_tagfile

That line means that the video transcripts contain <start= in many places, and tells WordSmith that such mark-up is to be treated as sound or video mark-up enabling you to play the context.
